Eggshell lining issue

I would insist the tough membrane shows the exact opposite of a mineral/vitamin deficiency. It's like you complaining about tough bones after surviving a fall off your roof.
I would not survive that - have already broken 10+ bones in my life - so I'll eat the high mineral egg membrane!
Thanks for all of the info. I genuinely love cooking with and eating the eggs from my flock - and understand, now, that the thick membrane is not an issue I need to address.

Just in how you break your eggs :D
It can be annoying, and when you get a thin one it can make quite a mess when you hit it too hard :gig
finesse is not a trait I possess. I'm the primary chef in our household - and I'm trying hard to keep eggshell out of my recipes - but I'll gladly trade home raised eggs and an occasional eggshell for factory farmed eggs!
Thanks as always for the advice!
