Eggshell question

Hello. Every once in awhile we will get an egg that has a somewhat transparent spot. It’s mostly on our white eggs but I have seen it on some of the colored eggs too. I have checked to see if there are cracks but I don’t see any and the area is not soft - just looks kind of transparent.

Does anyone know what causes this and are the eggs still safe to eat?

Still perfectly safe, one of your birds 'shell sprayer' just doesn't reach all the way around.

No, it does not feel thinner.

Does anyone know what causes this and are the eggs still safe to eat?

Possibly just where the bloom got effected when hitting the nest?
