Well we got a fairly cheap incubator, not the cheapest, but on the cheaper side to try and see if we could incubate a few eggs. Out of 9 eggs we candled them last night after 5 days, might have not been a good idea. I do not have the greatest expectations with this particular incubator. But we had veining in 8 of the 9, so I think it is at least possible we might end up with some end up hatching, only time will tell I suppose. I thought I would share a couple pictures, not the greatest, but you can see there is some development. We are excited as it was interesting to see. Regardless if this experiment results in hatching, it is very interesting!

I’ve done it before, this is my 4th year hatching. 🐣
That is awesome! We have just gotten chicks until now, so I've read a bunch, and watched videos and I'm really interested in seeing the differences with how they bond when you actually hatch vs just getting the little fluff balls. So hope we get at least a few to hatch for us!

Just a quick update on our progress. We candled all the eggs yesterday. One of the 9 had no veining or anything so we removed that egg. The other 8 you can see the embryos in them. We actually let them sit there to really look at them while candling, and they all had movement! One in particular when I moved my hand near it to point, appeared to react and move away... We were not expecting to see any movement as it was only the 7th day, haven't seen what time frame the movement would start, so just assumed it would be a bit longer like maybe the around the second week - third week. Very interesting, unfortunately I hadn't charged my phone so I didn't get pictures or video of it, and wish I had as it is amazing to see this process! I will note some of the eggs it was less noticeable of the movement than others, so maybe the ones with the less movement are the ones that won't make it? Either way it is pretty fascinating to see this.
