Yeah I candled and they were obviously still (I float tested too to be sure) but you could see that there wasn't a dark line around the edge and that the chick had sort of 'peeled away' from the shell, if you know what I mean?? They don't seem particularly sticky, the watery stuff is very watery and not gluggy at all.
I clean the hatcher with a product called 'Handy Andy' which is an ammonia household cleaner. I can't use bleach as we have a septic tank. They are only in the hatcher 1-2 days before they seem to die though, they appear just like the others at candling before lockdown.
I'm wondering if my humidity is too low during the first 18 days, could this cause the inner membrane to become tight?
