Eggxperiment...........

well summer has decided to hit texas with a vengeance here...........
after loosing 40+ quail to the heat and 2 ducks...........

my house is a zoo right now with 260+ birds living in nice a/c LMAO

about a week ago decided to just do a experiment

I left 30+ quail eggs outside in a smaller Styrofoam box
with a sponge for humidity

well i just finished candling the eggs

all 30 are developing ....

seems i dont need a incubator this summer at all...............

ill keep it updated...
ill candle in 5 days and see how they are....

260 birds inside a house

, here in Ok our temps have been worst and for longer and I would never consider moving not one inside for a second. I wish you luck but what about the horrible stench, your stronger than I.

Do keep us posted on your eggs periment--just read a story of a guy who put a 4 eggs in a glass bowl, a bit of water and put a lamp over it; Just to show his DW that hatching is NOT difficult and got 2 to hatch. So you may do very well if the weather holds!!!

I know how you feel with temps here reaching almost 100, i had to bring 2 of my baby silkies inside after almost losing one.

Our temps here in Ohio aren't that high, but the humidity is a horrible. I use a mister on my hose to keep the girls cool. You could try that. I don't think I will be moving to Texas in the near or far future. LOL Way to hot.
