Eglu or Handcrafted Portable Coop?

If I had to choose, I'd pick the wooden ark. I'm not a fan of the Eglu.

I have an Eglu with the extended run and I (and my girls) love it. It is very easy to clean and sort of easy to move around the yard. I bought it on Craigslist so it was very reasonably priced. If I had waited until I was able to build one, I wouldn't have any chickens.

Have you taken a look? I like the plastic storage container with the plastic bucket nesting boxes.

I love my Eglu GO -
it's incredibly easy to keep clean
it's well made
it's predator proof
my girls are happy and healthy
my girls have survived one of the coldest winters on record (Boston) without any additional heating
and -- its cool to look at at

I have the Eglu Cube, but my DH is currently building us another -larger- coop. The Eglu is awesome, easy to clean and the ladies love it, but it only fits three standard birds comfortably. It's a balance between price, square footage and ease of maintanance/assembly. In the end it's what matters most to you.

I think these are much better designs. If you're not handy yourself or don't want the bother, you may be able to find someone locally to build for you.
