Either I have a mad chicken, or eggs are on the way!

I noticed that one of my girls are very red in the face & wattles this morning and one more is about half way there. They just hit 19 weeks so I think this is it! This also follows presence of poo in the nest boxes for the last couple of nights. (which is odd, because they always roost on the roost bar and it is a good foot higher than the nest boxes.

They have extra lighting from 4am to 7am so they have the proper lighting so with any luck, my little freeloaders will start to lay soon!

It sounds like you should have eggs soon. Are they making alot of noise? I noticed for about 2 days before mine started I could hear them across the yard. I thought something was after them, it was a terrible racket! Then, presto! My first egg! Let us know when it happens!
