Could someone please explain to me how your election process works? I imagined that each state was voting for one of the candidates of each party. (Apparently not the case....Obama's name did not appear on last night's Michigan ballot. Why not?) ( and would those "uncommitted voters" on the Democrat side last night have been Obama supporters without a chance to vote?) I had a vague idea that each state was weighted differently from the next ex. a win in a state like New York might garner more points than a smaller state like Rhode Island. I just put that down to size of population. And exactly what is a caucus? I thought that it was a noun depicting a type of rally or event intended to raise awareness/gather support. But I have recently been hearing used as a verb. ie: He will caucus in Wisconsin. Should it not be...He will HOLD a caucus or STAGE a caucus in Wisconsin.????? And who are the super delegates??? I envision them in a cape, able to leap tall buildings. I hope someone can clear this up for me. My 17 year old daughter and I are enjoying following this event but just when I think I have it figured out...here comes a curve ball!!! Thanks, Carolyn.
