Hi, I was looking in to the chicken poultry netting and I was just wondering, Will the chickens get shocked if they touch it or not?
I have a neighbour dog that came over and ate all my chickens so I was wondering if this will shock him and get him away?

We have Premier1 electric poultry netting. The chickens don't seem to get shocked - if mine have it's nothing traumatic because I didn't notice. Yes, it should keep the dog out. Good luck & sorry about the dog.

Anything grounded (standing on the ground) that touches the fence will be shocked. It does not take long for animals to be electric fence trained. It's actually a selling point for pigs and other livestock, much like an elephant being held by a chain and small post that it could easily break free from. They remember and avoid the fence which will keep birds from flying over and pigs/horses/cows from damaging the fence if untrained.

Predators are as quickly trained, one shock should do the trick. In reality if no new predators came into your area you'd only have to keep the fence hot until all animals in area were trained. But animals move around and new ones will come around so the fence is "hot" at all times.

Thanks for the replays I think we r going to buy one!
