Electric fence questions

Good to know! What other means are the coyotes repelled by.
I'm more worried about foxes and dogs since they are daytime predators. My chickens are locked up tight at night.

Fencing far more cost effective in most situations. It does tend to have more up front cost. Three people nearish me either keep a number of pea fowl or have capacity to do so. They invest a lot in keeping the birds from flying out of the protected areas. Coyotes and owls are their most persistant issues.

What's the easiest, cheapest way to make an electric fence to go around a chicken coop?
How effective are electric fences?
I have a bunch of free roaming peafowl will they be in danger if theres an electric fence around a coop that they walk around & sometimes sit on top of?
I'm attempting to ward off bobcats, mountain lions, foxes & raccoons.

OP......can you share a photo or two of the coop you want to protect? Photo taken from enough distance to get a view of the whole thing?

Here most of the predators hunt at night. It was at night when the bobcat killed 14 birds. It dug under a fence. I did catch the bobcat a couple of nights later.
I have 3 electric wires around my coops and pens, but you must also have a good fence charger and ground rod. My fence charger is 1.2 joules and my ground rod is 8'. If anything touches it including me, it will make my heart skip a few beats. The predators know it's there. A few have gotten bitten by the electric and won't test it again. I also have game cameras up.
