I put a electric fence around my ladies and the first couple weeks it worked but now it doesn’t
I was fixing one of the pieces today and it was on the whole time and I didn’t realize but I didn’t get shocked but while doing it I grazed my arm acrossed the t-post and it shocked me. I don’t understand what’s wrong or what happened. I need help fixing the problem. Any ideas ?
Picture of my set up , I put a bucket over the box since it rains a lot in fl

What kind of footwear did you have on? It's possible it was working fine but didn't shock you bc you were not grounded bc you were wearing shoes with rubber soles like sneakers or trainers. If you were barefoot, it could have knocked you for a loop. If you need to test it, do not grab it with your palm, it will close your hand and you won't be able to let go easily. Instead, touch it with just your thumb in a rubbing motion.

If the bucket is touching the top of the wooden post and the hot wires, it could be grounding out the fence. Put insulators on top of the wooden fence if you don't already have some and make sure the bucket is not touching the wooden post and the wires anywhere.

The bucket is definitely touching the wire, is there a certain insulatator I need ?

When you touched the metal T post it provided a path to ground, resulting in a shock.

Your flip flops, likely rubber or some sort, kept you from being grounded if you touched the wire while fixing the piece.

Sounds to me like the fence is working just fine.
