Electric Fencing facts... For poultry

How did you teach this pitt to be a chicken dog?!! I have a sweet Staffy i would love to teach but he looks at the chickens with a differnt gleam in his eye.

Thanks , I'm a newbie on the site, but I've been fighting varmints off my tie corded chickens more than a few years. So my electric fence is the only protection many of my birdies get.. Owls are the biggest threat. I like owls too, but there are ways to deal with them too. :(
This is such interesting food for thought regarding thoughtful ways of keeping poultry. I wonder if you would mind describing how you tie out the rooster(s)? You clearly are keeping them happy (see downthread after this quote). A picture of this would be great! I'm both a newbie to all this and while I have learned to be a good manager and companion to dogs and cats, I'm still clueless with birds. I think I'm aiming at a duck flock, but this sort of information makes me think I might be able to learn to keep both.

Speaking of electric fence- has anyone used it to keep chickens out of an area?
Will chickens get shocked from it just like other animals?
We have fenced our garden, but there is one 40' section is made up of cattle panels, and the chickens go right through it.
