This is such interesting food for thought regarding thoughtful ways of keeping poultry. I wonder if you would mind describing how you tie out the rooster(s)? You clearly are keeping them happy (see downthread after this quote). A picture of this would be great! I'm both a newbie to all this and while I have learned to be a good manager and companion to dogs and cats, I'm still clueless with birds. I think I'm aiming at a duck flock, but this sort of information makes me think I might be able to learn to keep both.Thanks , I'm a newbie on the site, but I've been fighting varmints off my tie corded chickens more than a few years. So my electric fence is the only protection many of my birdies get.. Owls are the biggest threat. I like owls too, but there are ways to deal with them too.![]()
