trees and bushes are chickens' best friends...... also, you can get a heavy duty fence charger.. one for livestock with three or four strands of hot wire that can turn a bear.

...still I feel that "turkey wire" + a few strands of electric on the outside, would be a better option, at least cost wise. Turkey wire is closer together down at baby "bantam" height, and is dogproof, too. But in your region, that may not be the best option. Hope this helps.

That's a term I am not familiar with.
I googled and found 14 ga wire with 1" x 2" holes.
Is that what you mean?

yes, but some of it has larger spaces higher up and is "chick tight" at the bottom.. up to a foot or so high
