You have a lot wood/bracing for raccoons to run along. Do you know if the raccoons are going over the fence, under or both?

My coop was predator proofed before by chicks were old enough to be outside.I've had to do a lot of repairs to prevent coons getting inside but it didn't cost much to build except the hwclothFirst thing that caught my eye is the use of chicken wire. If you are using it for protection, it will not work. I've read many stories of raccoons getting through chicken wire. You need to replace it with hardware cloth. 19 gauge or thicker (the smaller the number the thicker the wire).
Even though I looked at the photos, I am not sure if I see things correctly.
If your yard is fenced in, and then you have the chicken run inside it, you will need enough space between the yard fence and the chicken run to prevent raccoons from going from the top of your yard fence to the top of your chicken run fence.
I just did some research and it seems that you may be out of luck on this one. Apparently, raccoons can jump up to 10 feet horizontally between structures.
It seems that the only way to really protect your chickens is a fully enclosed run, made from 1/2 " hardware cloth, including a roof.
