My chicks are just 5 weeks old now and the electrolytes I bought at the same time as the chicks is only going to last another week or less. I was told to use this until it ran out. It is extremely hot here in Oklahoma right now and I know how important electrolytes are for humans. Should I buy more electrolytes and keep putting it in their water during the hot part of the Summer?

Fair enough. I bought my electrolyte from McMurry Hatchery. Is their's okay..........or is there a better one to buy? Or would just any electrolyte suitable for chickens be okay?

I am glad I saw this. I have just wormed my 21wk old chickens and it was suggested to use the electrolytes for a week after...I think I will continue until our weather cools off.. Dixie

I ues electrolytes on everything on my farm once the temps are 90* and above..

Probably wouldn't be a bad idea to treat them to some plain yogurt too. Soothe their gut and help restore any good bacteria destroyed by the worming.

Thank you. I have been feeding yogurt as a treat since they came. I give it to them in the mid day--because it's so hot and I thought the cool yogurt might help!
