Hi there! I am brand new to this forum and brand new to raising chickens! We have 6 beautiful chicks now and I had a question about putting electrolytes in their water. I mixed it up this morning and noticed that it said to make a new mixture each day. It is one packet per gallon of water and with only 6 chicks they will not go through this in one day. Do I need to mix a new batch in the morning and replace what is in there now? Also, how long should I keep them on it?? Thanks so much! We are excited about our ladies!!

If if says mix new every day then I usually follow the directions. Oxygen and water work to degrade the electrolytes. The main reasons to give them to chicks is to get over the shock of shipping and give them a boost. Their chick feed should cover their needs so most don't give more then a day or two.
