ELI5 Why do so many ppl treat chickens expendable??

Pics
To clear something up because I've been quoted on it:
I do not think it is wrong to bury or throw away the carcass, I just think it is better to use it. If you don't want to for ANY reason that's fine, I was just meaning I would prefer using the carcass if you want

That's mainly from Genetic Hackle Fowl, specially bred for the purpose. Sadly most chicken feathers are not useful for it.
Some roosters grow a few feathers that can be used for the most simple, basic ties. But it's hard to get the feathers into the hands of actual fly fishers because they want the really impressive feathers grown by the industry bloodlines (cruelly, I might add, and they cull tons of female chicks to protect their "propriety" genetics).
I kept a line of Genetic Hackles (my roo flock) and while I did find a few people that super duper wanted them, they were a limited pool and I couldn't keep hatching them out. So now I'm working on blending them into my project to make the end bird a little more useful (not the high level Hackles, of course).

Custard first, and an unnamed roo, they found appreciative homes!

I honestly really don't see anything really that special about these birds. They look pretty basic, semi-hard feathered chickens, but with long plumage.

I may just get a few to compare to my birds feathering, though.

And as one with anemia just an fyi iron supplements cause constipation. I know it’s off topic, just sharing lol
Ascorbic acid can help increase the body's intake of iron, which is something to note if you struggle with iron supplements. And sometimes a plant-based iron can be gentler on the system/stomach especially if you feel ill after taking an iron supplement.

Thank you, I’ll definitely look into the plant based iron.

@BigBlueHen53 speaking of chicken black holes…I just casually for no reason, looking at chickens with long plumage. Oooo. Does anyone know how difficult it is to keep them clean? Asking for a friend lol.
