It's spring again, and the little monsters are coming out of their dens under the barn. Again Has anyone had success with cantaloupe or broccoli in a live trap? I've caught ONE in a trap, once, with corn, in many years of trying. Ugh! Hate to use poison or a kill trap; I want to be selective here. Mary

I researched trapping those b@stards a couple year ago, had one under my patio/deck.
You almost have to put up some fencing near their trails to 'funnel' them into the trap...do some googling.
They are very skittish and wary, as soon as I opened window to shoot they scampered to cover.

I ended up using a combo of flooding the tunnels and fencing off their access.
It finally moved out to field and take up residence in brush pile near my burn pile.
It wasn't as nervous farther away and I was able to shoot it.

A Conibear trap over their entrances will kill them instantly and works most every time. Just make sure not to set it wear non-target animals frequent. A cable restraint or snare will work just as well using the same setup but then you'll have to dispatch him afterward if you use a cable restraint (not the case with a snare though). The nice thing about the cable restraint is you can release non-target animals unharmed.
