Elite Mystery box from Breezy Bird Farm

Check out my thread "follow my hatch with me" and pages 9 and 10 i have pics of all my chickies
Ok! I just realized I lost that thread! I haven't gotten any alerts! :barnie
Following people's hatches is my favorite, it's like I'm hatching them myself, lol.

They went into the incubator 😍 oh I also put in a dozen of my buff Orpingtons eggs in there too.

Ok guys, I am now on day 18 of the hatch, just pulled out the egg turner, laid down some paper towel and put some water in the chambers.

On day 14 I had to get rid of some duds. I had about 12 or 13 of my buff Orpington eggs, I am now left with 5 of those. About 4 or 5 of my mystery elite box didn’t even look fertilized (no sign of growth). There were a few that died while progressing (blood ring and just yucky looking), so I am left with only 4 from the mystery box- Rhode Island White, Icelandic, Jungle Fowl and Hedemora. I am super bummed about it but I guess that’s what happens. I really wanted the Isabel Orpington!!! 😭😭

I will update once I have moved them to their brooder.

I have Icelandic and Jungle Fowl. They are both very interesting breeds! Both great foragers and predator aware. The Icelandics have hilarious personalities, and are super fun to look at. The Jungle Fowl hen is meek and flighty, but went broody at the drop of a hat, excellent mothering skillz. The JF roosters are agressive, so be warned. Icelandic roosters seem ok so far.

thanks for the info @plaidpantsuit ! That’s super helpful.

Third chick of my buff Orpingtons zipped last night. Still in her shell this evening when I checked after coming home from work. She tried to get out but she was sticking to her inner membrane and all of her feathers and limbs were stuck together like glue! So weird, so I had to assist the hatch and help her out, I got her free and now she’s drying off.

Waiting on the ordered eggs to hatch and for one of my Buff Orpingtons... I did put them into the incubator late evening may 2, so technically Day 1 started may 3 and day 21 is tomorrow... so we will see!

Lol! I like following threads like this. I love this site, I never knew there were so many people who love the birds like I do! My family thinks I'm crazy, but I'm normal to everyone here! It's fun. Good luck with your hatch! Incubating eggs is awesome, and watching the littles hatch is amazing! I look forward to an update! :D
Me, too! I'm considering hatching eggs in the next year. These threads are both educational and inspiring!

@kirstenchickenlady : Gorgeous mix of fancies! Good luck!
