I find it educational to open up eggs that have quit but others may find it disturbing if there's a partially formed chick. Completely up to you!Should I open Ginger?
I'd quickly cull her so she doesn't suffer. You can compost if you're not worried about attracting critters. Or place everything in a tight ziplog bag and in the trash. I'm sorry you had to see that. That's tough. She wouldn't have made it with that large dent and crack but now you know the others are probably developing alright.I cracked open Ginger. SHES STILL ALIVE. I see the poor little chick and she moves when I touch her. But I know that she will probably die inside the egg if I let her keep growing because of that huge dent.
I'm really sad to see her still alive in there but it's okay. What should I do with her now? Compost?
