Sounds like a good rooster! I had to give away a rooster like that, he was so protective of them if someone new came over, but he was very sweet to me and his ladies. I was pretty sad when he died of Mareks, only one year old.

Ah, now I want a rooster.

Since it's a smallish town and I live (way) outside downtown, I am allowed to keep roosters! BUT- if the neighbors hear a crow at 3am, they can complain.. But the rooster before (Danny was his name) never crowed early in the morning, and he wasn't extremely loud. I could have kept him for a long time.

Oh, he crows later! I love him a lot, but he needs to go. They've started fighting with my drakes (male ducks).
