I got my chicks! So excited.
The coop is well under way, all the walls are build and prescrewed. Just waiting for the snow to finish melting so we can move it outside! Simple coop for starters as we are really looking into 'hobbit hole' coops. Maybe actually burying it a bit so it can act as natural insulation!
Our lovely adopted Pyr/Collie mix is already smitten and happy to lay in front of the brooders, so yay for that and not a interest in eating the little guys.
Anyhow, sadly 14 of the little guys didn't make it out of our 75 chick order. So, we'll have to get those replaced. Fingers crossed my favorite egg chick makes it though, a tad scared because I think she may be a Polish -but- we shall see.

This is my favorite girl with her fashionable 'puff' But much smaller than the other chicks. I know I got a few freebie birds and didn't order any polish so maybe...
