I posted last week about trouble with my hatch and got no replies.
My ducklings appeared to be stuck - I suspect low humidity. The first one was literally glued to the floor of the incubator. With warm water mist and patience (had to come by) he was freed and continued to hatch on his own - was most of the way out when stuck.

The rest of the crew did not emerge without help - the first one that evening and the rest the next day.

While this guy seemed fine at first he is now SO much smaller than the rest. and quieter. He does eat and drink, but not as much as his friends. I have Poly Vi Sol but he will not accept it. He is the least friendly/handleable of the 6.

This morning he was trapped on his back in the shavings.

They get greens and he does eat some.

Any ideas? please? anyone? This is Elmer with the next born - Jumbo -

Forcing the poly vi? bugs?

Try posting on the duck thread. Lot of people will see it. You can also jump on your specific breed thread....( I'm too new to give anything other than encouragement!)

22% meat bird feed. He is now lame in one leg or weak? hard for me to tell. He is very very resistant to help! I got niacin today and added to the water, but he seems to have a hard time getting to it. If I separate him he screams and bashes on the walls of his "cell". He is reluctantly allowing me (sometimes) to hold him up for water and food. Lots of spunk but no strength

Ok update on Elmer.
Hes still with us and still alert bright etc. just has a gimpy folded under leg. He will still allow me to get him to food and water but I am afraid it will not be enough.

I will post a video on here if anyone will look at it. I cant seem to find anyplace (including here) for duck help

I am going to research splinting but it would be good to know what I am dealing with before I do too much.

Help? anyone?

Meat bird feed? Do you mean a meat bird finisher? If so, probably best to switch him to a starter.
