Email account hacked!

This morning at 6:45am a strange email was sent out from my email address to all of the people I have ever emailed within the past 4-5 years. It was sent out to over 150-200 people. It was from some chinese company.

Did this happen to anybody else? It was on my google gmail address.

Now im banned from some yahoo groups because it sent the message out to them, and they think im a spammer.

I have better things to do then waste my time spamming.

It happened to my yahoo account years ago. I just ended up deleting my yahoo account. I would notify google if you don't want to do that. Maybe you clicked on an email that was from a hacker....that's usually how they get into your email.

Happened to me on my hotmail back in the day. Seems to happen on accounts I'm not using.

Its so frustrating!

I reported it to gmail, so we will see what they say.


If this has been sent to some people I have talked through from BYC, I am sorry. It is rather embarassing.

I believe it is some sort of virus or worm that does this. No one actually hacked your account. You opened something or someone else opened a "contaminated" email and got your email and so on and so on.
I havent had a problem with this, but then again I mainly use the Mac when I am home

I never ever open Emails from anyone I don't know....... not now anyway, learnt my lesson on that one long ago.......

I read about this once and it said to put in your email address the address [email protected] This throws off anything trying to get your email addresses because the first address you have is a bogus one. I don't know if it works or not

but I haven't had any trouble. This will help keep all addresses in your address book safe anyway.

Im sorry this happend to you , as much as we use email I guess we should be thankfull it dosnt happen more,
A women I know from church got an email virus from a face book email and that virus sent an email to eveyone that she had in her addy book and/or had emailed in like the past few days or what not , it was an email with a porn clip embedded in it, she thought it was a person shareing a vid of her for the reunion they are putting to gether . she is mortified , it didnt help that she used awork computer to check it so her computer at work is infected as well

she had to take her laptop down and have it completely wiped to get rid of it.
