Embarrassing duck problem

My khaki campbell duck has an embarrassing problem that could become serious soon. His "thing" has been stuck out for a few days and I do t know what to do about it, he can poop around it but its forming a layer over it and i dont want it to get infected. Ill post pics if I can catch him

Take some warm water and try to clean it

It looks infected. Is a vet an option? If not I think you will have to amputate it. Read this:

The vet is not an option and I'm inexperienced with surgical procedures but I'm researching how to go about an amputation

Ok so I have some options, I could use a razor blade, but I would have to find a way to stop ths bleeding, or would a cattle castration band work, I just want the least stressful and least painful way.

I would cut it off. Feel up to where its not cold. You can give him a baby aspirin for pain. I just had one amputated. I used the vet because I get nauseous just thinking about it. Good luck to you both.

Will it bleed a lot and if so do you know how I could stop the bleeding, I've never done something like this so I'm a bit nervous
