Embarrassing duck problem

Will it bleed a lot and if so do you know how I could stop the bleeding, I've never done something like this so I'm a bit nervous
Did you have a chance to read the link provided by casportpony above? It goes over the procedure and on the first page of comments one member explained that she clamped with her fingers after snipping and sprayed blukote. Please keep us updated on how your drake does. I'm sure you'll do a wonderful job ❤️ It is definitely scary to think about and covering all of your bases before is going to help you be successful ❤️

I cant read it until I get home from school but we do have bluekote vetricin and neosporin if that can be used on ducks. I will read that as soon as I get home

It's been like this for 3 days about(I think i should consider these pics graphic)
I am going to go against the grain and say amputation may not be necessary. I had a drake with this exact issue. The way I treated it was putting him in warm water to soak for 30-45 minutes. I then poured hydrogen peroxide on, let it sit for a couple minutes and rinsed with distilled water. Afterward I put on duck safe Neosporin. I did this 3 times the first day. For me, by the second day, the crust started to come off, so I soaked and such a couple more times, and was able to push it back in. I highly recommend separating him from the females during treatment and about a week after. This may not work, and amputation might then be necessary, but this is what worked for me. The drake is still alive, healthy, and fertilizing eggs that result in perfect ducklings.
