If any is still exposed, I would examine it and trim off any dead or infected tissue.

Its looking a lot better, its warm all the way to the very end but there is some black tissue on the warm part that I'm hoping Epsom salt and hydrogen peroxide might fixhow are things now?? You're brave, and looking after him so well![]()
I think that is scabbing…but I am not completely sure. Personally I would keep putting on Neosporin, and keep him in a clean place, away from the ladies. If you see any changes in behavior, or the wound gets worse, it might be time for a different treatment course.Ok here are some update pics, this black tissue acts like it wants to peel off but when ever I disturb it it bleeds a lot, what should I do about this
Ok I have been keeping him in a quarantine pen and have been changing it out daily, he seemed a bit depressed recently so I brought his friend for a short visit and he perked up and didnt like it when I took him away. And thank you, I really love my animals and I hope he will be ok at the end of this.I think that is scabbing…but I am not completely sure. I have to commend you for your devoted and excellent care of him.
if you let his friend in for a visit, they should be supervised, and personally I would keep them a distance away incase of pecking/further damage. A mirror could help if you haven't given him one yet, they feel a little better when they can see "another duck".Ok I have been keeping him in a quarantine pen and have been changing it out daily, he seemed a bit depressed recently so I brought his friend for a short visit and he perked up and didnt like it when I took him away. I only let him see him for like 5 minutes and I let them see eachother through the fence. It was kinda sad and cute because as soon as they saw eachother they were quaking loudly and were looking at eachother through the fence.if you let his friend in for a visit, they should be supervised, and personally I would keep them a distance away incase of pecking/further damage. I agree with Mademoiselle_JubJub, you're doing a good job caring for him so kindly![]()
