Anyone on here have Embdens? What does your incubating time usually run? This is my first time with goose eggs. Every site seems to give a fairly general goose egg incubating estimate, not bothering with different breeds. Today is day 27. Hopefully, I didnt wait to long or go too early in lockdown. I went ahead and figured 30 days for hatch.

Hi neighbor!

I don't raise my humidity for lockdown until I see the first external pip! It works! I have had 2 successful hatches in the past week

I've hatched 3 of 4 eggs so far from my embdens. The first 2 pipped internally on day 27, externally pipped on day 29, and hatched on day 30. I didn't keep track as well with #3 as I did with the first 2 but I believe she hatched on day 29.

ETA: I usually keep my hatcher/goose incubator around 45-50% until they pip internally. Then I put a wash cloth in there soaked with warm water. I don't know what it brings humidity up to but it works

Thanks to you both. I felt like I was flying blind there

A friend had given me the pair and said the goose had hatched out her own eggs the year before. Something here kept getting her eggs though. I put the next 8 of them in the incubator and she now has another 4 in the nest. Hopefully she's keeping a better eye on them now.

i am hatching embdens in the hatching geese eggs thread if you want to join. my eggs are on day 27 now. we are all mostly newbies to goose eggs on there.
