Hi there!
I am a new goose owner: I bought a breeding pair of Embden back in March and they settled right in and started a family. I have five goslings, now 8 weeks old. They are feathering up nicely but one has a grey head and back (feathers rather than down). She looks a little different in terms of head shape too. There’s no way my goose could have bred with another gander, so does anyone know what’s going on please? Is she just passing through a phase of looking like a buff back, or is this a permanent thing? Do Embden do this often? I’ve found no photos that look like her.
Here she is, with some of her siblings
I’m assuming she is a she, by the way. I haven’t checked yet.
