Flushing a wound with saline is better for the patient than hydrogen peroxide. Saline is close in salinity to the body's natural fluids (plain water will actually dehydrate the flesh... complicated reasons why).

Mites are very resilient and will hold on when submerged in liquid. Seven or some other mite treatment is a must. You may want to consider an internal (medication) rather than topical dust treatment b/c Seven is an irritant.
 
I wont use sevin dust because I don't want to put chemicals on my girls. I've read posts about how it stays in their bodies for so long. I'm going to DE them again tomorrow. Rosemary's wing is looking SO much better today. Hardly red at all, and most of the swelling has gone away. She acting like nothing ever happened. That's good

If anyone has any other non-chemical solutions for mites, I'd love to hear them.
