The fact that this was her birthday, the day her father's spirit was supposed to visit her today, made it worse.
"Trojan..." She whispered.

"I'm not going to banish you, just listen!" he called, still racing, his legs still stretching. He was so close, a stone's throw away.

She skidded to a halt.
Her fathers spirit was in front of her.
"Father?"
"Ah, my wonderous daughter. Are you well?" Her father nuzzled her ear.
"Yes, my father." She said.
"I must leave now, I'll always be with you." He touched her muzzle then faded into the clouds, his voice lingering in the air.
I love you, my daughter. I gave you Trojan for a reason...

Trajon slid to a stop, finally having reached earshot. "Thunderstorm."

My father didn't want my mother to abandon me. She killed him as soon as I was born, and what you said... it just..." She felt a few tears fall from her face.

(come back later!!!) A small cut bled from her face. "It's... look it's okay..." she was struggling for words. "I just..." She was groping for something to say to Trojan. "I just can't really... express my life, so I kinda just..." She broke off, sighing. "Why say anything? Let's just go home." She began to walk home, blood dripping from her face.
