My husband brought in an egg from our Roosterless flock. It was cracked so he opened it to give to the dogs but we found a freaky, embryo-like blob, complete with what looked like eyes. So much so that my husband (an intelligent man) insisted it was an embryo, but later conceeded it was probably a parasite. He threw it in the trash and it vanished. Like we went back to dig it out for a picture and an autopsy but never found it again. It was about 2 inches long, seahorse shaped, and white-ish gray. I know a pic is worth a thousand words, but none of the pics I've seen posted here of parasites look like what we had. Any other ideas?

Look up lash egg or salpingitis and see if any of those images look similar to what you saw.

If not, keep an eye out in the future for anything similar and photograph it, inside and out if possible, before throwing it away.
Thank you! Definitely will do
