Emerge: The 3 week old Dinosaur Chickens! (pic heavy!)

My babies are turning 3 weeks old, the awkward teenage phase is beginning as they are half fluff, a quarter feather, and the rest that weird time in between.

By the way, do hens and cockerals get spur bumps at this age? I also think I saw one trying to crow! These are supposedly pullets, not straight run! They are buff orpingtons and speckled sussex.

Our Black Copper Marans are at that same age and are hilariously awkward-looking, too. Poor ladies. Well... hopefully ladies.

I thought my little ones were doing the crowing thing thought for sure all pf my little girls were little boys..but I was told that they were yawning...only looks like crowing! Not sure if that is what yours is doing...but all the ones that I thought were crowing turned out to be little girls! Thanks goodness!! Your chicks are cute BTW...I love that phase of kind of cute...kind of not cute!!
