Emergency advice for a novice

Ok the one that was blowing bubbles did not make it. It got rolled over and fluid came out of the pip and dried sealing it in the egg first one to lose so far hope it's the last. Have 8 in the brooder right now
Yay on the eight!!

on the loss. It really sounds as though the egg did not let enough moisture out. Hopiing on of those in the brooder was the malepositioned chick??

No I made up my mind and helped the chick. the membrane was starting to dry out and the chick was getting after it with no avail. I broke half the egg away and started on the membrane I peeled and peeled but no blood and the yolk sac was absorbed. It's still sort of connected to the through its rear so I quit. The chick is moving and seems to be doing alright. Might have been the wrong decision but i made it. Hope for the best and will keep tall updated

Doing what you think is right is part of hatching. I helped my malepositioned (she would not have gotten out w/o help, I have no doubt) and she is now a healthy 9 week old. There's always a chance they won't make it, but you have to do what you think is the right decision. :)

Is still attached to the bottom of the egg and is dragging it around. But there is not much

36 out of 38 hatched. I just opened the last one that had not piped. It had absorbed it's yolk sac but did not internally or externally pip. This has been a great experience. Thanks to everyone for their help. I know you are not supposed to help but I helped the mapositioned one and he made it and I helped 4 more that were shrink wrapped and all are doing well. I will keep tall posted on their progress

Awesome hatch! Great job. Like I said, you find what's comfortable for you and you go with it. If I feel a chick needs help I help. Nay sayers can zip it...lol Congrats!

Congrats! I can't imagine waiting for that many to hatch. We set 4 eggs and waiting on them from the first pip to the last chick was torture. I couldn't stand it any longer and at some point after the first two hatched I reached in quickly and removed the shells. I have a little Brinsea Mini Advance and there just wasn't a lot of room. The 3rd chick hatched late on NY Day. When I woke up the next morning those three chicks were rolling that last egg like a bowling ball. That afternoon I finally moved those 3 from the incubator. The 4th and final egg finally hatched late on the 2nd. I don't know if what I did was "right" but I just couldn't watch them stumbling over the egg shells, and then tromping all over the final egg. They are all 4 alive and healthy now so I must not have hurt them too much.
