I wonder if the mama got so sick of them all that she dumped the poor ducklings into the drain on purpose...

So what ended up happening? The situation made me sad

@Raenh saved the 5 littles @Texag87 took them home and is caring for them.

I saw her when I went to deliver something, and was talking to her then i noticed the grate when one almost fell in.
Then i saw two come out of the tunnel by the grate in the parking lot, and go back into the tunnel out by the grate by the fountain. And freaked out.

So, I overcame my fear of what might have happened, and I'm extremely glad/happy/proud that I did.

Momma knows which pond to avoid now, as the big one does not have an overflow storm grate. Momma and her 8 other babies are fine!

this is great. 8 is probably enough for her to keep up with.

Found a good home for them. They have a brooder ready to go after moving the previous brood out last week. Plenty of acreage to range .
