Emergency Baby Quail Feed

Hello BCY! This is Pip.
Yesterday I found what I thought was a dead bird on my front step, but when I went to throw it out I noticed it was breathing. I gave him some water and kept him nested in a tea towel under a red lamp, today he's bouncing around and chirpy. Locally no one carries quail feed, so I ordered some online, however he is hungry now. What can I feed him from my kitchen until the feed gets here?

I would suggest yogurt. It's nutritional and they seem to love it. I've not had quail, but when I had a chick who wouldn't eat chick feed, I fed her yogurt and it worked great!

I would try to grind Coen mixed with a very small bit of ground cat food. The cat food should give him/her protein the corn should fill his little belly till the feed comes in.
