The little chick is gone. She went on her own. As sad as it makes me there's relief too. She's no longer living in pain.
I spent a couple of hrs with her cuddling around my neck with one of my hands keeping her warm like a blanket. I just didn't want her to spend her last hrs all alone and although I wasn't there when she passed I feel good about what comfort I did give her.
Now if I can only get my parrot to stop imitating a crying chick. He's not helping.
Thank you again @azygous. You really gave me the support I needed to get through this week for more than just than the advice but as someone who has been there and could truly empathize.
