When my sister went out to feed our new batch of 9 chicks, she noticed one had a limp foot. one foot is perfectly fine however, the chick can't walk on the other foot. His foot is raised and his toes are curled. How do I help him?

Thanks in advance!

What type of surface is the chick on?

Can you feel of the joint of the leg, is it swollen? Can the chick walk at all?
You can try taping the foot flat as shown in the link below to see if that helps.
I would also give the chick 1/4 tablet of B-Complex daily for a week.

Thank you for your help! When I looked at the leg and felt it, it didn't feel swollen at all. The chick can walk, but it falls over a lot. He is with his Mom and 8 siblings. The chick lives on shavings however, in the day we put them out on dirt in a movable fence so their Mom can teach them about scratching for bugs and stuff. They are not out right now because it is raining. We suspect it got hurt or stung by a bee as this is the chick that is always jumping around on his Mom and jumping up high to our larger feeder. He could have hurt himself by doing that. Thank you!

He may have hurt it, but I would still tape the foot if it's not laying flat and give him the B-vitamins. It wouldn't hurt to provide all the chicks with some poultry vitamins that contain B-2 (Riboflavin).

We taped the foot and put him in a separate brooder with a heat lamp. There are two other unrelated chicks with him. They are getting along fine though and they have plenty of food and water. I don't know if we have any Riboflavin but we will look for some next time we go out. The chick was hunched over a bit however, when it got in the brooder with food and water he perked up and started acting normal. The chick is still very alert. The poor chick hops around on one foot to get around, hopefully he will get better soon. Thank you!

Could we get him egg yolk/white to get B-2 vitamins? We have plenty of duck and chicken eggs to spare. We should probably use chicken though right?

You can give him some scrambled egg, but I would still get some B-Complex.
Hello!
We gave the chick a hard boiled egg, and will hopefully be able to get him some B-Complex soon. So far, he has been doing well, eating drinking and being active. We took the chick boot off yesterday because the toes were straight and we even saw him standing on both feet however, later in the day his toes were curled again so we put the chick boot back on. Thank you!
