it has been very cold here recently and ao I decided to put a heat lamp in the chickens coop. Sometime in the middle of the night it started s fire burning their best box material no chickens were killed but some are having some serious breathing issues, they’ll coo then cough. I have them out of the coop but they are still having a hard tim breathing is there any way I can help I have some melted water but they won’t drink. Help please.

looks like fresh air, humid air, the rest is all needing to be done by a vet if they are even willing to. hope they all heal quickly.

I would say just as with a fireman who Inhales Smoke the particulates that get into the lungs can be a little bit difficult to have them cough up so it just might take some time they're not going to stop coughing for maybe even a few days till they can get the particulates up

if they won't drink, then the freezing water doesn't matter.
believe this or not, but warm water will freeze quicker than cold water.
what did you have for a heat source?
I am guessing a large heat bulb.
those have burned down many coops.

just keep offering water and change it about every hour or two. don't be surprised if they don't drink.

I doubt that there is any permanent damage to them. after they cough for a couple of days they will get better..
