e the 2 chicks that hatched are doing great ( I was a bit worried that their feet were curved - but they seem better today) Not bad for a quick impromptu incubator!!! So about an hour ago my daughters each carried a chick out to where we have the mama hen and her 4 babies.... she has been really protective any time we hold the chicks and so my daughter put the one down behind her, and walked slowly away. The mama looked at it like where did you come from and clucked for it to follow her to the food
then she looked at my other daughter still holding the 2nd bator chick like "GIVE ME MY BABY" so my daughter put it with her and that was that! I am SOOO thankful it went so smoothly- cause when we came back in the house one of the 3 remaining eggs is cheeping
so mama hen went from 4 to 6 without a hitch. Thanks for all of you who offered advice and offered encouragement... what a great site this is!I took some great pics and will try and post them today... (one is of one of the chicks standing on mama's back
