noticed our comet breathing heavy. Brought her in and saw this. Any advice?

Feel inside with a gloved finger for an egg, just in case she is eggbound as well. It looks like her cloaca is visible, but her vent looks more dilated than prolapsed. How far out is the tissue protruding? Keep that red tissue moist, so that it does not dry out. You may use honey, plain neosporin, or olive oil.

15-30 minutes soak.
If you have any tums in the house crack one into bits and feed it to her.

A prolapse is *sometimes from pushing too hard to expel an egg and being depleated of calcium.

Dry her off and lubricate her vent and your finger liberally
(Cooking oil or something similar) And feel gently for an egg that may be stuck or broken shell bits.

Sometimes the bath and lubrication will help pass the egg in a little while.

Preparation H applied copiously will help decrease the swelling a lot.

It’s coming out pretty far. We have pretroleum jelly. Will that work? Haven’t checked her vent yet but I will. Poor thing looks miserable.
