Emergency!! one year old pullet egg bound or internal infection?

Vaccination only prevents tumors. Birds can still get the virus.

You really don't need to do anything other than practice biosecurity so you don't spread this to other flock owners. Don't wear the same shoes and clothing to the store that you wear working with your chickens. Don't rehome chickens. Buy only vaccinated chicks.

The virus lives up to two years in the dirt and facilities. Starting over is more complex than keeping your flock and doing good biosecurity.
thank you for the reply, I do do those things. So, disappointing when you do everything you are supposed to and the outcome is not good. I'll Keep on doing what I am , enjoy and spoil my girls and hope nothing else happens.

I have avian leucosis in my flock. It sneaked in very early and caused many tragic illnesses and deaths. Somehow, my flock has thrived in spite of it. These avian viruses are very common, and they infect more flocks than you would realize, many folks not even aware they have it in their flocks. But we can learn to live with these viruses.

I'm betting the same will be true for you and your flock. Keep getting only vaccinated chicks, and you may find that you will only lose a chicken rarely.
