Emergency! Please help!!!

I had a mother hen that took a notion to lay in the wooded area outside the fence. They free range. This morning she was missing and had one hatched baby. Baby was cold but alive. Other eggs not hatched. Moma hen was gone. No feathers, blood or signs of struggle. What happened? Where would she be??? Please help. Her one baby is all alone

Keep looking for that hen! She has to be somewhere!

Do you have an incubator you can fire up, too?

I would get that incubator / brooder going and put the chick in, keep looking for the hen, and possibly be ready to transfer the rest of the eggs.

If they were all that close to hatching, I'm not sure how cold they can get and still make it. Worst case I would hate for you to lose the whole clutch, too.
