This is the bruising I was talking about. Its only happening on the ones that are flipped. They must have pecked a vein. The membrane is always discolored as well.

This is the ready baby. Hes split his membrane a bit more, I cracked the egg back.

After further investigation, I've just learned that the shipping time doesnt count towards their incubation time. I was counting from their lay date. (which, in hindsight, seems obvious). So instead of them being 2 days late, they are actually due anywhere between tomorrow and sunday. Which means that our baby (of whom we have appropriately named Genghis Khan) pipped 3-6 days early.

Day zero is the day you set them in the incubator, day 1 is 24 hours later.
