EMERGENCY!!!! Rooster with heat stroke?

I think he has turned the corner. He's doing much better. he's lifting his head, looking around, has ruffled his wings a couple of times. still won't drink. but eyes are much perkier, he is still warm to touch, but not burning up like before. I think it was pouring water on his feet that cooled him down, that and cranked up AC in house.

Thanks. It wasn't me, I just knew to come to BYC. Thanks to everyone who responded so quickly. I and the Roo appreciate it!!

do not force water down him.
if you want to offer him water, give it to him with a dropper on the SIDE of his beak. If he will not drink just keep giving small amounts.

Eventually he will open his beak and get some fluids.
You can tell if he is ok with it if he opens and closes his
beak several times and then swallows.

Eventually he WILL drink on his own if he is comming around.

Keep putting the water on his legs, this is a GREAT way to cool him down.

DUH!!! Good job thinking about cooling his feet!!!!! They have to keep their feet warm when they roost when it's cold outside, so it would make sense that their feet would be a good place to start!!!! That and their combs and wattles....Unless maybe I'm connecting the dots wrong.....

Ok, he's doing much better. I put him back outside for the night since it has cooled off considerably. Will check on him in the morn and give an update. Thanks to everyone for all the advice. It is greatly appreciated.
