EMERGENCY!! SICK HEN

valbazen is a one time dose and then ten days later the same dose....then your done....the safeguard is for five straight days at that dose...and then wait ten days then redoes for another five straight days....as for the corrid...this is a daily dose....for a week...then do half for that week and then half of that dose the week after....then your done...

When is the last time you wormed her? What kind of bird is it? How much does she weigh? You may need to get a tube and syringe to get enough nourishment in her. And you may need an antibiotic if there's an infection in there. Can you post a picture of her poop?
a couple of months ago. American Game Fowl, not sure, soo terrified to tube feed her and completely unsure where to get the tubing, my local feed store doesnt carry anything like that. ill try i have to clean out her cage today sometime.

Also, what kind of wormer do you use? And have you checked to see if she has an egg stuck? How old is she? Sorry for the 20 questions, but it's important to know to start ruling things out.
DE well she is the age to lay eggs and the other hen ive grown up with her is laying but so far ive never seen her lay an egg.. she is about 8 months.

when its broke down like that doesnt sound half as scary, do you know where some good places would be to get it? theres not much around where im at. unfortunately lol

you can make your own temp tuber if you want....if you click the link you can see the temp tuber that will work for chickens...its a 1/4" line from aquarium line...and you have to take a lighter and smooth the edges on the end that will be going down the chicken....if she is eating / drinking on her own don't tube feed her....however I would put corid into her mouth at a 1/2ml every day for 5-7 days...and see how she responds...but also I would worm her which you can do at the same time...then watch her poo if you see the worms as they get discarded then you know she is infested with quite a few....however most worms you will not see and I would take poo to your vet calling a head of time telling him you want a fecal test done...he will do the test and tell you if you have a worm problem...

amazon will have both...you can overnight...which will cost more obviously....make sure to check the link...it has a lot of great pics...and will help you in future reference...
I would go with the valbazen over the safeguard...I have both...if you are going to worm all your birds...then get the safeguard and put it into there water...once a day...I have about 40 full grown chickens and I put 2 1/3 tablespoons in the water and they drink it all and when its done I just fill it back up...make solutions daily and shake as you will notice at the bottom the worming medication will settle...I just poured it right into the dish without dumping it out...and its hard to od a bird on any one of those three meds...best solution and the cheapest and easiest is to do orally with valbazen tho....as you will go thru way more safeguard then valbazen...the big bottle of safeguard is about 120 and the big bottle of valbazen is about 50 and will last longer....so the option is up to you

DE is useless as a wormer. You can find the wormers at a local feed store or online. You can call your local vet to see if they have an 18 french tube and a 60 ml catheter tipped syringe.

To put the tube in...Wrap her in a towel, firm but not too tight, and stick her between your legs. If you have a helper have them hold her so you can tube her. Then with one hand you open the beak. Start the tube on the left side and put it down the right side. You'll feel it go down to her crop. Do no go straight back that is her airway and it's nearly impossible to get a tube down there anyhow. Start with small amounts and work your way up.

How much does she weigh. Safeguard will be .5 ml per 2.2 lbs Not sure on the others. What do you feed her?

safeguard you will want to go 1.2ml roughly on your chicken...
heres a great site for help

this is a two person job as well...two days later this bird was fine and back to her flock....she was only given sugar water at 25ml every four hours and in the second tubing I put in 1/2ml of corid...she had runnyish green poo...this seemed to help...I would use valbazen...your best bet...and then worm all your other birds as well at the same time...checking the poo on them to see if you can see anything...

she wouldn't eat she wouldn't open her eyes and she was very weak...but don't tube feed if she is eating and drinking
Dose of Safeguard 10% liquid:
Nematodes--0.7 cc (mL) orally, or 1 1/2 TB per gal. drinking water.
Giardiasis--1.2 cc (mL) orally, or 2 1/3 TB per gal. drinking water.
*If mix in drinking water, tends to settle at bottom of bowl

you can put the tubing up to the chicken as it would be thru the mouth and down into the crop and mark on the tube so you know how deep to go...hope everything goes well
