Used corn starch, bleeding has stopped for now. Worried that she’ll pick at it and open the wound back upSorry to hear about your bird.
I would add a little bit of corn starch to the towel, and apply firm pressure for a minute or two until the blood clots. If the cut continues to bleed she may need to see an veterinarian. Do you have any pictures of the wound?

Great idea. Thank you!Depending on how the cut looks, I might apply a super glue wound gel over the wound to seal any blood from possibly coming out in the few days to come. Do you have any on hand?
Does your chicken have a beak injury?I know this is an old thread but hoping I might get an answer…was your chicken okay? I’m trying to comment on other similar threads that I find
I’m asking because one of my chickens has an injury that looks similar to this one. We used the tea bag method to protect the wound. This is my first time having chickens so I’m wondering what to expect over the course of healing, if it will heal at all. Thank you![]()
I didn’t make my own thread because the whole thing happened very fast, so we didn’t end up taking any pictures. I’ve also made a lot of threads lately so I thought I’d give it a rest..Does your chicken have a beak injury?
If so, do you have a thread, I can't find it. If not, then please post a photo of the injury, it's very helpful to see what has happened so we can offer suggestions.
