:(PLEASE HELP ...I HAVE ANOTHER EGG BOUND CHICKEN ....WHY ARE THEY BECOMING EGG BOUND ?WHAT AM I DOING WRONG ?
I GAVE HER A WARM BATH AND IT LOOKS LIKE SHE PASSED AN EGG WITHOUT THE SHELL ? PLEASE HELP I AM DESPERATE !!!!!!

If she passed the egg w/a soft shell she should be okay. What do you mean exactly by no shell? If she's only passing an egg w/soft shell, is she a beginner in laying? If so, don't panic, she's just acting normal...as long as she's been fed and watered properly, no other health problems.

The crop protrudes if its full of food so no worries there. The egg bound part, you seem to know moisture and warmth helps open or relax so the egg can be pushed out...but as for the egg having no shell and raw egg sign, I'm no help there so you'll have to read this post to see what everyone says:

Please Calm Down. We are here to help you. If you look at the top of this Catagory (when you started this thread) you will notice a nice sticky. If you answer the questions in it, this will really help all ocncerned who are trying to help you.

The crop is located directly above the keel or breast bone. ALL BIRDS HAVE THIS. It is usuallly soft and plyable to the touch. This is where a bird accumulates large amounts of food before passing it to the gizzard. If this area is hard, then you need to keep the chicken isolated with NO FOOD. Water is O.K. . In the morning check the crop once again. It should have gone down considerably.

Some chickens get what is called an impacted crop. There are many threads on this within the forum. You can do a search. I know it may be difficult to search if you do not know what to search for.

The passing of an egg, without a shell is not as uncommon as one would think. It is not a great thing to happen, but it is treatable.

Some birds actaully BREAK the egg inside themselve from a fall or a muscle contraction. This is fairly serious, but usually not fatal.

Please do edit your post and complete the question asked. This will help.

Above all, keep calm and read, read, read.
