Hi! Sorry if this is co fusing I’m rushing. So, we gave our broody Cochin some Easter egg we chicks about 2 or 3 weeks ago, now they are going to bed but she keeps pecking them and pulling out feathers and has no intention of sitting on them anymore, she I guarding her food ect. She is acting completely different from just this morning. I have no clue why she did this, it was like a flip got switched. We have had chickens for years and have never experienced this before. Please help!!

I want too, but we have nothing ready. In the dark she does not attack them but once I check she pecks them.

No, she has been taking care of them for 2 or 3 weeks now, they have been living together since day 1

No she full on pecks them, nothing like a gentle “learning peck”

Huh, do you have a heat lamp and plastic tub (container they can't jump out of)? You can use newspaper, straw, or shavings temporarily.
