Ok, I was using Cheetah Mobile(old) and switched to Phoenix(new).
Actually uninstalled CM and had to reinstall when Phoenix quit working.

Been going on for a couple of weeks now. I just figured it was my iPad acting up.
I'll check it at BYH, TEG, thecatsite, and the other xenforo forums.

oh, and I can't be 100% sure, but I think it might have started around the time that the article ratings disappeared.

@casportpony It sounds like whatever media player you have on there has crashed or broken. If it's multiple websites then it's definitely the media player

Okay, videos are broken at all sites, but pictures and smileys are okay on other sites.

Ya, that's weird! I'm not seeing any other reports from other site visitors, but I'll keep an eye out!

There's not much I can find on the media player crashing on an ipad but I found this so maybe it's worth a shot:

From the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data...
and confirm. Close the window. Then select▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced ▹ Delete All...
In the sheet that opens, check the box marked
Delete All Site Data and Settings then click Delete Data. Close the preference pane.
